1992 Toyota Camry Catalytic Converter Heat Shield?

A piece fell off my car the other day and I am pretty sure it was the heat shield from my Catalytic Converter. Should I get this replaced? or is it ok to just ignore it. Please tell me why either way. Thank you for the help.
