Taken wife to las vegas for are first time?

hello, we are a younger couple 30, i am taken my wife to las vegas for here b day in mid april,what is weather like at that time, can we swim out doors.i am looking at booking rooms at the golden nugget hotel . we are a younger coulpe looking to stay some where reasable with a pool and out door hot tub. is Fremont street pretty safe for us as long as we don't leave main road. we like bar and grill type places to eat and dink. any one know any place that are reasonable like that. looking to get names of places that have reasonable prices on food, burgs, wings, steak,etct. is downtown vegas better than the strip for someone that really don't have alot of money and just want to have fun. any thing you can think of will help,does anyone know the price of drinks at the pool area at the golden nugget hotel, thank you
