I think definitely ring her. Obviously be polite, but just explain what you've said here. It won't do any harm, and if anything, it shows how determined and eager you are to get the job. It'll make you stand out to her more,and even if you still aren't able to re-take the test, at least you'll know you have to just wait three months, instead of mindlessly wondering.
