Should I move to Russia?

If you want to move to St Petersburg, please, do. This is a very nice place to live. I am sure you will find many friends here. It is the cultural capital of Russia. You can spend months exploring the architecture of this beautiful city. As for crime, I think it is not that bad these days. The situation is really improving. A lot of foreigners live here and they really like it. But before moving you should find some place to work and live. I travel a lot, but I always miss St Petersburg, and I am always happy to come back.
